Mason + Bridgette {Wedding: Part 2}

 We loved Mason and Bridgette's late November wedding at the Marriott in Coralville.  It was a beautiful event and the couple was surrounded by so much love, not only for each other but the love their family and guests had for the beautiful couple was wonderful.

Corey + Teressa {Wedding: Part 3}

After sunset, we headed back into the reception and continued with the festivities of the evening.  Corey and Teressa cut their cake, then guests dove into the amazing delicious Molly's cupcakes.  I have to say the chocolate was phenomenal (did I ever mention how much I love cupcakes?!).

Corey + Teressa {Wedding: Part 2}

After we finished with the bridal party portraits on the golf course, we headed back to the clubhouse to photograph the family portraits.  Unfortunately, the sunlight was harsh which limited our locations for portraits.  Thankfully on the back of the clubhouse there was a great spot for portraits.

Corey + Teressa {Wedding: Part 1}

On a bright autumn day in the middle of October, I headed to Middle Amana to the Amana Colonies Golf Course for the wedding of Corey and Teressa.  There was a slight chill in the air, but the sun was bright and warm.  The trees were starting to show their golden colors, truly a beautiful sight and a perfect day for a wedding.

Stuart + Marybeth {Engaged}

 Earlier this month, I met up with Stuart and Marybeth for their engagement session at the Lake MacBride spillway area.  It was a perfect evening for portraits, albeit a bit warm.  Golden evening sun, a gorgeous couple, and a beautiful location; it really doesn't get any better.

Summer {Senior}

Wow!  Is it really December and I'm still blogging October sessions?!  I was so wonderfully busy this October I'm just now getting caught up!  Definitely not a bad problem to have, especially since October was filled with so many great sessions with beautiful families and seniors.

At the end of October, Summer came into the studio for her senior portrait session.  Summer was so much fun to work with.  Not only does she have a great personality and sense of humor, she is also gorgeous and so easy to photograph.

Mark & Janeen {Sneak Peek}

I don't normally post sneak peeks, but I had to share this.  I'm still a long way from having all of Mark and Janeen's wedding edited and ready to share, but this image is just too fun not to share.  There is really nothing quite like a nice blue sky (on a day that was supposed to be stormy) out on the backroads of Iowa, surrounded by beautiful green fields.  Simply lovely!  Check back later to hear more about Mark and Janeen's wedding day and to see more images of this beautiful couple!

Dan & Dazi {Wedding}

 Memorial Day weekend, I had the pleasure of capturing Dan & Dazi's wedding at the Old Capital in Iowa City.  The Old Capital is a beautiful location, one I have photographed outside of many, many times.  Generally the interior is off limits to professional photography, but as they have recently opened their venue to hold weddings they are now allowing photography for couples who have their weddings at the Old Capital.

I loved, loved, loved photographing inside the Old Capital.  Not only is the architecture gorgeous, but it is filled with beautiful natural light.  I had such a blast working in there.

Alexis {Frozen Inspired Bridal Session}

Recently I headed to Dubuque for a "Frozen" inspired bridal session.  In case you haven't noticed from my previous "Frozen" inspired session and my "About" page on my website, I may or may not be in love with the movie "Frozen."  I've loved the idea of a snowy bridal session and after watching it for the first time, I knew I had to do it.

Finding the Right Wedding Photographer for You {Part 4: Products}

Will you want to display your engagement portraits at your wedding?  Perhaps you would love for your guests to sign their names and write their warm wishes in a custom guest book?  How will you display your amazing images after your wedding day?  Do you want to create a stunning gallery on your walls so you will always be reminded of the joy and beauty of your wedding?  Would having a custom designed album to tell your wedding day story be something you would always treasure?  These are important things to consider when hiring your photographer.  Ask to see examples of your photographer's products.  Look through their albums.  Feel the materials they use.  Look at their layouts.  See examples of their guest books.  View a gallery display.

Liz {Professional}

In September, I head to the University of Iowa's Delta Zeta house for Liz's professional head shot session.  I had the absolute pleasure of photography Liz's wedding last year and was thrilled when she contacted me again for her professional portraits as she begins her new career.  Liz is a recent Iowa graduate with a degree in law and is launching her own mediation firm.   The Delta Zeta house was a beautiful setting for her session.  It was a warm and inviting atmosphere with wonderful natural light.  I love photographing in natural light.  It

Jillian {Modeled Bridal Session}

I love the golden hour of the day.  During this modeled session with Jillian, it added to her glow and radiance.  I am in absolute love with how this session went.  For years, I have gone to visit a dear friend in the town of Clermont.  Clermont is a very small town and most people would not think of it as an amazing location for portraits, but I was drawn to shoot there.  Thankfully, Jillian was up for indulging my itch to photograph a bridal session there.
