On a bright autumn day in the middle of October, I headed to Middle Amana to the Amana Colonies Golf Course for the wedding of Corey and Teressa. There was a slight chill in the air, but the sun was bright and warm. The trees were starting to show their golden colors, truly a beautiful sight and a perfect day for a wedding.
My assistant, Summer, began the day with the guys as they got ready and I headed off to capture the girls and they put on their finishing touches. You could see the excitement in everyone's face. This was a day they had been waiting for a long time. Corey and Teressa began their relationship nine years ago. Their first date had been during their freshman year of high school, and they have been together ever since.
Teressa's little sister was part of the bridal party. This was such a sweet moment of them together as they were getting ready. Lovely!
I love this moment, as Corey's mother helps to fasten the necklace Teressa will be wearing on her wedding day. Not only is a beautiful moment of them together, the significance of the necklace is lovely. It belonged to Corey's great-grandmother. Such a wonderful and personal touch to the wedding.
Corey and Teressa's first look took place just behind the clubhouse at the golf course. Often, first looks are a moment with just the bride and groom, but Corey and Teressa's family and bridal party joined in to watch. They were a great audience, you could see the joy on their faces as they watched.
After her first look with Corey, Teressa shared a first look with her father. Unfortunately, her father's glasses were darkened by the sunlight, so I couldn't capture his tears of joy seeing his little girl for the first time on her wedding day. His smile tells it all though. So sweet!
We began formal portraits at Teressa's parent's home. They have a beautiful yard and it was a great location for portraits. Not only because it was beautiful, but also because it is such a special place for them.
When we returned to the golf course, we headed out to the 10th hole for bridal party portraits. Just to the side of the fairway, there was a line of oak trees that were glowing as the sun shone through the leaves. The golden hues were a perfect compliment to the colors of the wedding. Speaking of which, I adore the color of the bridesmaids dresses! The dark teal was simply gorgeous and looked great with the yellow and orange in their bouquets. Love it!
The bridal party portraits were so much fun! They were a lively group and up for anything. I don't know if I've ever laughed quite so much during formal portraits. This group was amazing. I enjoyed working with them so much.
Check back soon for more from Corey and Teressa's gorgeous wedding day!
