Skylar {Two Years Old}

 Skylar came in recently for her birthday club session.  She was so excited to wear her new teal jacket for her portraits.  Such a sweet smile!

Jason + Emily {Engaged}

At the end of March, I had the pleasure of having Emily and Jason in the studio for their engagement session.  They were great to work with.  I had a lot of fun using my new sequin backdrop during their session.  The bold colors in their outfits seemed a perfect fit with the sparkles.

Jace {Cake Smash}

This little guy had a lot of fun munching on his cake.  He wasn't too sure about it at first, but once he realized it was a tasty treat, he had a blast.

Jace {One Year Old}

It was so much fun having Jace in the studio for his one year portraits!  I photographed his parents' wedding a few years ago and was thrilled when they contacted me to capture portraits of their adorable little guy.

The Gavin Family

 During our Christmas Mini-Sessions, the Gavin family joined me in the studio.  It has been a few years since I've had the pleasure of working with them and it was great to see them all again.  My, how their kids have grown!  It is crazy how quickly time flies.

The Pollard Family

 

On a chilly morning in late November, I met out on a country road outside of Wellman with the Pollard family for their portrait session.  They were troopers and lasted twenty minutes in the chilly wind.  I think we got some great portraits of them with the beautiful field behind them.

April + Chris {Maternity}

Recently, I had the pleasure of capturing April and Chris' maternity session.  Three years ago, I photographed their beautiful wedding at A Touch of Class in Cedar Rapids, though honestly, it doesn't seem possible that it's been three years.  I'm so excited for them as they prepare to welcome their new, little baby boy.  

The Keber Family

The last week of June, the Keber family came over to the studio for their family portrait session.  It has been a few years since I had the pleasure of photographing their family.  Their girls have gotten so big.  Crazy how quickly time flies!

Ron {Head Shots}

Recently, Ron came to the studio for a professional head shot session.  Though he was nervous to be in front of the camera, I think he did great.  It was very interesting hearing about his work.  He speaks both nationally and internationally about education and how to encourage and stimulate parental involvement in the learning process.  He has been all over the world speaking on these topics.

Kaelyn {Nine Months Old}

 Talk about a little cutie pie!  In November, sweet little Kaelyn once again lit up my studio with her adorable smile.  It's hard to believe this little peanut is nine months old already.  Seems like just a few weeks ago I was capturing her newborn portraits. 

Summer {Senior}

Wow!  Is it really December and I'm still blogging October sessions?!  I was so wonderfully busy this October I'm just now getting caught up!  Definitely not a bad problem to have, especially since October was filled with so many great sessions with beautiful families and seniors.

At the end of October, Summer came into the studio for her senior portrait session.  Summer was so much fun to work with.  Not only does she have a great personality and sense of humor, she is also gorgeous and so easy to photograph.

Ava {Three Year Old}

Sweet little Ava recently came into the studio for her birthday session.  Hard to believe this little cutie is three already!  It seems like it wasn't long ago that she was just a tiny newborn curled up in a basket in the studio. 

Kaelyn {Three Months Old}

It is hard to believe this little peanut is three months old already.  Seriously, time flies!  I was so excited to have her back in front of my camera.  I have to say, she is the most smiley three month old I think I've ever seen.  Look at this sweet girl's gorgeous smile!  She made my job so easy with her happy face.  Honestly, my heart melts a bit each time I look at her  portraits.  Adorable!

Newborn Potraits {What to Expect}

The birth of a child is a wonderful and important event in your life.  Whether it is your first baby or your fourth, each baby is special and precious.  Babies grow so quickly, right before our eyes.  While in the fog of sleepless nights and getting into the routine of having a new baby in the house, it may seem like time is standing still, but your little, tiny one is growing by leaps and bounds each day.  It is so special to capture newborn portraits.  Newborn portraits are the perfect reminder of how little they once were and capture the love shared in your new family.

Senior Potraits {How to Prepare}

 Hard to believe your junior year is winding to a close and it's time to begin thinking about senior year and everything it entails.  It's time to start making decisions about what colleges to apply to, thinking about scholarships, and making the most of the time you have left with classmates before you all move onto the next great adventure in your lives.  Another thing to begin thinking about are senior portraits.  Senior portraits are a fun way to show off your personality and creating a lasting memory to share with friends and family.

The Schrader Family

 In December, the Schrader family came into the studio for their portrait session.  I love their blue-green themed outfits.  The coordinate so perfectly together.  They were a lot of fun to work with, so full of energy and beautiful smiles.  I think we got some great shots of their family together and each of the children.  Of course, we got some shots of Mom and Dad too.

Ava {Two Years Old}

Ava is two!  She came into the studio at the beginning of October for her portrait session and was quite the ball of energy.  Ava wasn't too keen on sitting for her session, but I think we got some fantastic shots of her despite how wiggly she was.  I adore the photos of her on our new gray vintage chair.  You can tell she is full of personality!
