Skylar {Cake Smash!}

To celebrate a baby's first birthday, often parents will schedule a cake smash session.  While it is a very messy session, it is so fun to see them smashing and playing with their birthday cake. 

Gloria {Cake Smash}

 It's hard to believe that the teeny, tiny little newborn I photographed what seems like such a short time ago is one.  How time flies!  In December, Gloria came in for her cake smash session to celebrate her first birthday.  Cake smash sessions are such a fun way commemorate a first birthday.   Gloria was not super interested in smashing her cake, but she did enjoy munching on it.  She even offered to share, so cute! 

Grady {Cake Smash}

Earlier this month, I met with Grady and his parents at the Press Box at Kinnick.  He is truly a Hawkfan in the making.  Every aspect of his first birthday session was set to tones of gold and black.  He even brought along the football I photographed him laying across when he was just mere days old.  My how he's grown since then!  He went from being a tiny little six pound peanut to a very busy one year old running around the press box in what seems like no time.

Ava {One Year Old}

About a year ago, I had this little peanut in the studio for her newborn session.  My how she has grown and changed!  Still rocking those gorgeous blue eyes and adorable as ever, but this time I really got to see her fun personality.

Claire & Max {Cake Smash!}

In April, Claire and Max came into the studio for their first year portraits and cake smash session.  Claire was not so sure about smashing the cake, but Max dove right in.  They were so cute!  I loved the theme of their cakes, "The Very Hungry Caterpillar."  It is one of my fave kids books.  Both the kiddos had a blast during their session.  Max was quite sad when his was over and he had to say good bye to his smashed cake.  Super adorable!

Tanner is One!

Sunday, I had the adorable little guy that is Tanner in my studio. I can't believe it, but he's one already. Seems like he gotten so big so quickly. Such a cutie! His parents brought along a cake for him to smash, but aside from the toy on top he wasn't too interested in it. He did have fun playing with the toy though!

Peyton's One!

It is so hard to believe that just a year ago this little sweetie was just an itty bitty peanut. Peyton was just two weeks old when she first graced my studio and I have had the absolute pleasure of watching her grow this past year. She has always been so much fun to photograph and has such gorgeous blue eyes and such an adorable smile! Happy birthday, Peyton!!

Lilly's Cake Smash

In honor of Lilly's first birthday, we had a fun cake smash session. She did so well smashing her cake. She was more interested in playing with the frosting than anything else though. It was pretty cute! I think cake smash sessions are so much fun. What a great way to honor your child's first birthday!

Cake Smash!!!

Last Sunday, Carter (quite possibly one of the most adorable little guys I've met) was in my studio for a fun (and messy!) cake smash session in honor of his upcoming first birthday. It was a lot of fun watching him play with the cake. Surprisingly, he wasn't much for eating it! He was enthralled by the frosting stuck on his hands. It was so cute to watch!
