Summer {Senior}

Wow!  Is it really December and I'm still blogging October sessions?!  I was so wonderfully busy this October I'm just now getting caught up!  Definitely not a bad problem to have, especially since October was filled with so many great sessions with beautiful families and seniors.

At the end of October, Summer came into the studio for her senior portrait session.  Summer was so much fun to work with.  Not only does she have a great personality and sense of humor, she is also gorgeous and so easy to photograph.

Cooper {Senior}

At the beginning of October, I met up with Cooper for her senior portrait session.  We began our session at The Shop in Kalona.  Seriously, it was so much fun shooting in there with all it's amazing vintage items and furniture.  The back of the building had a fun teal wall and to the west side of the building was a great alleyway.  It really was an excellent location.  Cooper and I had a blast in there.

Busy Season

Oh my, I am so behind on sharing all the amazing sessions I've had lately.  I've been so busy with sessions and weddings currently that if I'm not shooting, I'm editing.  Sadly, that means blogging and Facebook posting have not been happening.  

Brianna {Sneak Peek}

Brianna {Class of 2015}

 Recently, I headed up to Cedar Rapids for Brianna's Senior Model session.  The session took place in the Czech Village, just outside of the Czech and Slovak Museum.  Until Brianna's session, I had not had the pleasure of visiting that area of Cedar Rapids before and it proved to be a gorgeous location. 

Senior Potraits {How to Prepare}

 Hard to believe your junior year is winding to a close and it's time to begin thinking about senior year and everything it entails.  It's time to start making decisions about what colleges to apply to, thinking about scholarships, and making the most of the time you have left with classmates before you all move onto the next great adventure in your lives.  Another thing to begin thinking about are senior portraits.  Senior portraits are a fun way to show off your personality and creating a lasting memory to share with friends and family.

Cooper {Class of 2015}

Meet Cooper!  She is one of our amazing Class of 2015 Senior Models.  Recently, we headed to downtown Iowa City for her Senior Model session.  Cooper braved the cold, windy March weather for her portraits and was such a great sport despite the cold.  The windiest part of our session was on Iowa Ave. in front of the beautiful mural there.  I love how the portraits turned out.  The colors and lines in the mural were such a fun backdrop.

Senior Models 2015

 

It's that time of year again.  Crazily enough, junior year is over half way through and it's time to start thinking about senior portraits.  We are looking for some energetic and outgoing students from the class of 2015 to be our newest Senior Models.  This is an amazing opportunity to not only earn free great products, but also the be the trend setter for your graduating class.  Check out more about our Senior Model Program here!

Christian {Senior}

 Recently, Christian came into the studio for his senior session.  Christian is a drummer and basketball player.  It was fun incorporating his interests into his session.  After a short studio shoot, we headed around downtown Wellman and Wellman's South Park for some outdoor shots. 

Teresa {Senior}

 

Recently, I headed out to Teresa's home in the country.  It is a beautiful location and loved photographing there.  I captured her sister's senior portraits a few years ago.  It was fun getting a chance to work with her family again.  The sun was bright and there were no clouds in the sky, but thankfully they have plenty of beautiful shade trees around their property.  Her outfit choices were very vibrant and fun.  I love how her portraits turned out. 

Alivia {Rock the Dress}

Last week, I had the opportunity to capture Alivia rocking her prom dress.  We started our session at the Levitt Center in Iowa City.  I love the lighting in the Levitt Center.  It is simply filled with gorgeous natural light which was perfect to capture portraits of this stunning girl.

Bryan {Williamsburg Senior}

At the beginning of October, Bryan met with me at the studio to begin his senior session.  He's a senior at Williamsburg and plays in several sports there.  His studio session went well.  We even got him to smile for a few.

Zach {Senior Portraits}

I recently met up with Zach for his senior session. We started out at the Iowa River Power Restaurant bridge.

Justin {Senior Portraits}

Justin and his mother joined me in the studio a week and a half ago for his senior session. They braved the heat and sun for some outdoor portraits. I have to say, I'm very impressed he wore long sleeves in 97 degree humid weather and still insisted he was fine. I was wearing short sleeves and burning up. Kudos to him for putting up with the horrible heat in the name of fashion.

Tyler {Senior}

This past Sunday, I spent the afternoon with Tyler for his senior portrait session. Unfortunately it was about 90 degrees outside plus humidity and the sun was blinding. Thankfully, Tyler was a total trooper and survived the outdoor portion of his session. We kept to the shade, but it was still very hot. I think we got some great photos despite the non-cooperative June weather.

Scott

I had a blast photographing Scott's senior pictures! Despite being a typical guy and not initially wanting to smile for the camera, he was really laid back and fun to work with. We started with a quick session in the studio with his guitar. Then headed around Wellman with his skateboard. I love it when people bring in items that really speak to their personality.
