Mason + Bridgette {Wedding: Part 2}

 We loved Mason and Bridgette's late November wedding at the Marriott in Coralville.  It was a beautiful event and the couple was surrounded by so much love, not only for each other but the love their family and guests had for the beautiful couple was wonderful.

Mason + Bridgette {Wedding: Part 1}

On the last Saturday in November, I headed to the Coralville Marriott to capture Mason and Bridgette's beautiful wedding day.  When I arrived, my assistant and I headed up to where the bridal party were getting ready for the day to capturing the moments as they put on their finishing touches.

Dane + Tristan {Wedding: Part 3}

After the ceremony, the bridal party headed over to the Old Capitol in Iowa City for some fun bridal party portraits.  I love the lines and architecture at the Old Capitol.  The columns make for a beautiful backdrop for portraits, as do the stairs.

Dane & Tristan {Wedding: Part 2}

After Tristan arrived at St. Mary's in Oxford, her bridesmaids headed into the church to let us know they had arrived.  Tristan waited in the limo, ready for her first look with Dane.  We brought Dane out to the front of the church (beautiful lighting and location!), where he awaited his bride.

 We began our day at the Coralville Holiday Inn, as the bridal party was finishing their preparations for the day.  Tristan and her bridesmaids were getting into their gowns and touching up their make up, while Dane and his guys put the finishing touches on their suits and straightened their ties.

Scot & Allie {Wedding}

 

On July 20th, I headed to First United Methodist to begin capturing Scot and Allie's wedding day.  I love the large circular stained glass window above the alter in First United Methodist.  It is truly stunning set above their grand pipe organ.  It made for a beautiful setting for this wedding.  

Jim & Sheila {Newlyweds}

Earlier this month, I had the pleasure of capturing wedding portraits for Jim and Sheila.  Jim and Sheila said their "I do's" during a small ceremony on the sunny beaches of Mexico at the end of January.  When they returned to Iowa, they held a reception at the gorgeous Coralville Marriott to celebrate with their friends and family.

Brandon & Cassie {Wedding}

On August 17th, I spent my day with Brandon and Cassie as they got married.  Their ceremony was held at Brown Deer Golf Course in Coralville.  It was a busy location that day with a golf event going on, but we were still able to have our formal session there.   Their first look was on the deck area just outside of their ceremony location.  It was beautiful and emotional.  I love the moment when a bride and groom see each other for the first time.

Evan & Aleasha {Wedding}

In the middle of June, I photographed Evan and Aleasha's wedding. It was a gorgeous day. We began at the Coralville Marriott where Aleasha and her bridesmaids were getting ready for the day. Once she was ready, she met Evan downstairs for their first look. I have said it before and it is still true today, I love doing a first look between the bride and groom. I know tradition denotes that the bride and groom should not see each other before the wedding ceremony, but a first look is something so special. It allows the bride and groom time with just each other before the day is in full swing. They get the surprise of seeing each other for the first time in their wedding finest and gives them time to talk, share kisses, and just be with each other. This is something that is not replicated by seeing each other for the first time at the ceremony. At the ceremony, you have 100+ guests watching you and a ceremony to participate in. There is little room for the hugs and whispered words of love that a first look allows.
