Dane + Tristan {Wedding: Part 3}

After the ceremony, the bridal party headed over to the Old Capitol in Iowa City for some fun bridal party portraits.  I love the lines and architecture at the Old Capitol.  The columns make for a beautiful backdrop for portraits, as do the stairs.

Their reception was held at the Holiday Inn Conference Center in Coralville.  After they made their grand entrance, Tristan and Dane shared their first dance.  The dance was beautifully back-lit by green and pink up-lighting, provided by Unique Events.  Beautiful!

While Dane and Tristan ate their meals, I borrowed their rings for some detail shots. Tristan's bouquet was stunning.  E's Florals did an amazing job on the flowers for this wedding.  The rings set so beautifully on the delicate petals. 

I also love the photo of them on the lace and gold table runners.  Celebration Linens did a lovely job with the table decor.

At sunset, we stepped out of the reception for a few minutes.  I love, love, love sunset and golden hour, so beautiful and romantic.  Unfortunately, most views from the Holiday Inn are not the most photogenic, consisting mostly of parking lots, roads, and houses.  Thankfully, I had the opportunity to scout out the area a little before the bridal party arrived to the reception.  Across the parking lot, in the northwest corner, there was a beautiful row of trees, lush green grass, and a simple white fence.  It was a great location for evening portraits.  To the west, there were houses, but when shooting to the northwest, the backdrop was trees.  It was perfect!

I had such a wonderful time working with Dane and Tristan, as well as their great friends and family!  Best wishes to Dane and Tristan as they begin their married life together!!
