Brian + Rebecca {Wedding: Part 2}

 As we were ending our time in New Bo, we stopped along a fence to the south of the New Bo bar.  I love the vine growing along the fence and the diagonal lines in the fence.

 Then the bridal party got back on the party bus and headed to Noelridge Park for some more bridal party portraits.  It had been many years since I'd had the opportunity to photograph there, such beautiful gardens.

 Rebecca had bought umbrellas for the bridal party since the forecast was looking like rain.  Thankfully, the rain held off for the majority of the day.  Though, ironically, during the ten minutes we decided to bring out the umbrellas for some fun shots, the skies began to open up.  Thankfully, it was mostly just sprinkling.  As soon as we finished, the skies cleared up again.

Their reception was held at the Cedar Rapids Marriott.  Their grand entrance was so fun.  I love the tunnel created by their bridal party.

 During the reception, Brian and Rebecca took a spin on the traditional kissing to the tinking of glasses.  Each time they kissed, their DJ would announce a randomly drawn couple from amongst the guests and had them kiss as well.

 The toasts given by the best man, maid of honor, and Rebecca's dad were filled with humor and love.  It was so much fun to capture the emotions and reactions as the toasts were given.

Brian + Rebecca {Wedding: Part 1}

 In the middle of May, I headed to St. Joseph's in Marion to capture Brain and Rebecca's wedding day.  We arrived as they were finishing getting ready and began capturing the wedding details.  As we were photographing the moments with Rebecca and her bridesmaids, one of the groomsmen came into the hall where the ladies were getting ready with a small gift box and a note.

Monday Meetings

The past few Mondays, today included, have been filled with consultations with brides (and even a few grooms).  I think 2015 is going to be a spectacular year, and I am looking forward to working with all of the amazing couples who have chosen Geno Photography to capture their wedding day.  I have to say I adore getting to meet each couple and hearing about the plans they are making for their big day.  It's so fun to hear a bride gush about her wedding dress or talk about the flowers and venue. 

The Wedding Day {Time Line}

You spend so much time planning all the beautiful details of your wedding: your dress, the center pieces, the flowers, the bridesmaids dresses and jewelry, and so much more.  It is also important to take a moment while planning your amazing wedding to consider the time line of your wedding day.  Yes, you will start your hair at 9:00, your ceremony will begin at 2:00, and your meal will be served at 5:30. But what about the important moments in between?

Matt & Julie {Wedding}

In August, I assisted Eric Yerke Photography in capturing the wedding of Matt & Julie.  The wedding was held in Cedar Rapids at St. Mary's.  The sanctuary was filled with stunning natural light which made it an absolute joy to photograph in.  To add to the fun of capturing the day, Julie and Matt were wonderful to work with. 

Chris & April {Just Married}

At the end of September, I had the honor of photographing Chris and April's wedding at A Touch of Class in Cedar Rapids.  Their day was absolutely beautiful from start to finish and I am so happy that my assistant and myself were allowed to share in their day. 

Ben & Jess {Wedding}

On July 7th, I headed to Marion to capture Ben & Jess's big day.  We began the day at First United Methodist with formal photos of Ben with his guys and family.  Then we photographed Jess with her girls and family.  They chose not to see each other before the wedding, so to make things run a little smoother following the ceremony we utilized our time by photographing many of the portraits beforehand.

Sam & Bryana {Newlywed}

On New Years Eve, I spent a wonderful day capturing the wedding of Sam & Bryana. They were married in the newly built Congregational church north of Cedar Rapids. It had a huge window on the back wall, that filled that area with beautiful natural light. We took most of the formal portraits there.

Dan & Chantal

On July 30th, I spent an amazing day with Dan and Chantal as they celebrated their wedding. The morning started at The Fix Salon in Cedar Rapids where the bride and her entourage had their hair styled into some lovely updos.
