Chris & April {Just Married}
At the end of September, I had the honor of photographing Chris and April's wedding at A Touch of Class in Cedar Rapids. Their day was absolutely beautiful from start to finish and I am so happy that my assistant and myself were allowed to share in their day.
We began the day with their first look in the gazebo at A Touch of Class. Then we took full advantage of the gorgeous backdrop the woods and grassy field there had to offer. Their bridal party and families were so much fun to work with that everything ran super smoothly during the formal session. A photographer couldn't ask for anything better: great people and a beautiful setting.
Their ceremony was held in two parts. First, the traditional American wedding, during which April wore her stunning bridal gown and Chris looked dapper in his tux. Then, following a brief intermission, they had an abbreviated traditional Thai water ceremony. For the Thai portion of the event, they wore gorgeous golden Thai outfits. Their families and friends were invited forward to pour water on their hands and offer their advice and well wishes for the newlyweds. It was a beautiful and very special ceremony.
Following their bubble exit, we took some formal portraits of them in their Thai clothing before they headed off on a limo ride. When they entered their reception, the party began. The toasts were funny and heartfelt, the first dance was romantic, then... they broke out into a choreographed dance to "Gangnam Style" that included their bridal party and many of their guests. It was a surprise to all those who were not participants in it. So much fun! The video from their wedding (captured by Cara Hall at Memories That Last Videography) was even featured on KCRG.
Congratulations again to Chris and April! Thank you so much for allowing us to share in the amazing celebration of your wedding.
