In the middle of May, I headed to St. Joseph's in Marion to capture Brain and Rebecca's wedding day. We arrived as they were finishing getting ready and began capturing the wedding details. As we were photographing the moments with Rebecca and her bridesmaids, one of the groomsmen came into the hall where the ladies were getting ready with a small gift box and a note.
All morning, and much of the day to follow, Brian had been sending little notes and gifts to Rebecca to celebrate their relationship; from money for a parking ramp in honor of a past date to other special trinkets honoring treasured memories together. I have to say, it was one of the most thoughtful and beautiful gifts I've ever seen a groom give his bride to be. Rebecca's gift to Brian was a beautiful booklet containing the notes he had written her each day as he packed her lunch. Another beautiful walk down memory lane for them.
After their first look, we began formal portraits in the church. After an ominously gray morning with the forecast of rain for the day, the sun came out and we were able to take some portraits outside of the church.
Their ceremony way beautiful. Rebecca's uncle, a Catholic deacon, presided over the ceremony and brought a wonderful personal touch to the event.
After the ceremony, we headed over to the New Bo area. I had never been to that part of Cedar Rapids before. Love it!
Check back soon for more from Brian and Rebecca's wedding day!
