6 Tips for picking THE Dress

My name is Jessica Attere and I am the owner of Brides by Jessa, a new bridal boutique in the Iowa River Landing in Coralville. I am going to share a few tips for picking out the dress you will wear on one of the most memorable days of your life.

A Winter-y Wednesday

Snow is falling outside the studio window this afternoon.  Unfortunately, my session this afternoon needed to reschedule due to the winter weather, so I decided it would be a great time to work on a few emails.  Well, in the midst of composing an email to a bride beginning her wedding planning process, something in the wonderful-world-of-technology decided to glitch.  Now, I'm unable to respond to anything.  Bummer!  Most of my communication with my clients is done via email, so this has thrown a monkey wrench into things. 

I apologize if you are waiting for me to respond to an email.  I hope tech support has everything up and running again soon.  Until then, I'll enjoy the flurry of snow from the warmth and comfort of the studio while I work on a few new props for upcoming sessions.

Adria {Three Years Old}

Last week, Adria came into the studio for her Birthday Club session.  I love her pastel pink and lavender color theme, seriously so adorable.  As always, Adria was so much fun to work with.  She was a little slow to warm up, but with the help of our friendly and super-patient studio kitty, Rose, Adria was all smiles in no time.

We Are Hiring!

This year is shaping up to be a busy and wonderful year the Geno Photography!  In light of such great news, we are looking to hire a few Second Shooting Interns to help us with weddings.  In the past, I have worked with amazing photographers who second shot many weddings with me, but they are also full-time lead photographers so it is often difficult to get schedules to line up.  This year, I'm hoping to find a few great people who can join the Geno Photography team, learn about our style and expectations, enjoy one on one mentoring, and build their skills.  At the end of the year, I'm hoping these people will choose to stay on with Geno Photography or will at least walk away from their experience with confidence, knowledge, and an awesome portfolio.

Kaelyn {One Year Old}

 Hard to believe this little peanut is one already!  It seems like only a short time ago she was sweetly smiling in her sleep during her newborn session.  It is crazy how time flies!

Class of 2016 Senior Reps Wanted!

Winter

Winter is usually our "slow" season.  Family portraits are usually finished before Christmas, senior portraits wind down once the weather becomes cold, and wedding season generally ends around the end of October.  But, wow!  This winter has been so busy around the studio.  Our 2015 wedding season is filling up quickly.  Between consultations and portrait sessions we have been going almost non-stop.  I love it! 

Girl Scout Cookies are Coming!

 

This year, the Geno Photography studio is playing host to our Girl Scout troop's cookie pantry.  I tell you, it is a little difficult to focus with cases of Girl Scout cookie deliciousness in the room with me.  My two sweet Girl Scouts are so excited to start selling this Friday. My oldest has sold the last two years, but this is the first year for my youngest and she is so happy to be selling along side her big sister.

AW Welt {Head Shots}

 Last week I headed to AW Welt Ambrisco in Iowa City to capture head shots for a few of their new employees.  I've been working with the AW Welt staff for many years now and always enjoy a chance to get over there and meet the newest members of their staff. 

Moments

 

We remember life as a string of events; moments that define our lives and live on in family stories.  Weddings are no different.  The main focus in wedding planning is on the defining events: the first kiss as husband and wife, cutting of the cake, the dance shared by a father and his daughter, the bouquet toss, and so many more.

Ron {Head Shots}

Recently, Ron came to the studio for a professional head shot session.  Though he was nervous to be in front of the camera, I think he did great.  It was very interesting hearing about his work.  He speaks both nationally and internationally about education and how to encourage and stimulate parental involvement in the learning process.  He has been all over the world speaking on these topics.
