Meet the Nash family. They were amazing enough to brave the heat a few weeks ago for their family session in Iowa City. For the session, we headed to the Iowa City Dog Park. Sounds strange, I know. But I love the Iowa River Power Restaurant bridge and the grassy field near the dog park. They make great locations for portraits.
Seriously, how adorable are their girls? Despite the head and humidity, they did great. I love the images of them together. You can tell how much they love each other. Look at the big smiles on their faces in their hug. Precious!
Each time I do a family session, I always try to mix up the groupings. Of course everyone wants a great image of the whole family, but it's also important to get a few of mom and dad together, as well as the kids with each parent.
I love this image of them from the end of the session. I asked them to look at each other and laugh. Instead of what I expected to get, two sisters smiling at each other, I got this beautiful moment of them having fun and interacting. These moments are my favorite part of my job.
