Brandon & Emily {Wedding: Part 2}

After the formal portraits finished, Brandon and Emily's ceremony began.  It was held in the River Room at the Grand Harbor Hotel in Dubuque.  It was simply stunning.  The large glass walls overlooked the river and the whole room was filled with the afternoon light.

Peter & Ryan {Wedding: Part 2}

If you missed it, last week was Part 1 of Peter and Ryan's wedding day.  Now, onto Part 2!  Peter and Ryan's reception was held at the West Des Moines Sheraton Hotel.  Before the reception kicked off, we took a few moments to go around the beautiful hotel for a few more portraits of Peter and Ryan.

Mark & Janeen {Wedding: Part 2}

 After Mark and Janeen's ceremony, we headed to Sutliff for some additional portraits on the Sutliff bridge.  A few miles away, we stopped along a beautiful gravel road.  The sky was a beautiful summer time blue and the fields were a bold green.  Simply beautiful!

Finding the Right DJ {Guest Post by Unique Events}

In our field, like many others, we have a generic title, "DJ". The differences in what makes a bad DJ bad and a great DJ great are many! Some differences have to do with communication, execution or experience. Some have to do with preparation, training, and most importantly passion! When you get a DJ that is passionate not only about what they do for their client (DJ), but passionate about the actual client, it is a completely different experience!

Nathan & Beth {Wedding}

At the end of April, I headed to Western Iowa for the wedding of Nathan and Beth.  It was a gorgeous day.  The church had a beautiful floor-to-ceiling stained glass window at the back and was filled with gorgeous natural light.  It was a great group of people to work with, which  made for a wonderful day.

Adam & Rachel

At the beginning of July, I had the privilege again to assist Greg Frieden of Greg Frieden Photography with the wedding of Adam and Rachel. They had a beautiful ceremony at Kent Park and a fun reception in Amana. They were wonderful to work with and so willing to brave the heat for their formal portraits. Kent Park served as an amazing backdrop for this gorgeous couple.

Salina & Bill's Reception

I am done editing the rest of the images from Salina & Bill's reception. There were so many beautiful moments that it was hard to narrow the selection to share here. The formals in the park were gorgeous and a lot of fun to edit. The reception was full of fun times too. They arrived in style that's for sure, pulling up in Salina's father's Model-A. What an amazing car! The reception was filled with beautiful toasts, seeing old friends, and dancing the night away.
