Kyle + Wendy {Wedding: Part 1}

At the end of August, I head to the brand new Noah's Event Center in West Des Moines to capture Wendy and Kyle's wedding day.  When I arrived, the setup was still in process and I had so much fun capturing all the beautiful details.  Wendy created a large variety of chalkboards to share information with her guests.  There was a chalkboard telling their timeline from first date to "I Do's"; a chalkboard to label the candy bar, guest book, gift table, and more; small chalkboards to reserve the parents' seating in the ceremony, and many more.  So beautiful.

Before Kyle arrived at the venue, I photographed Wendy's beautiful wedding gown.  It had a tired chiffon skirt, a black sash about the waist, and buttons down the back.  I love the image of it in the arched hallway.  Simply stunning.  The hanger on which it hung was customized with their wedding date and her new last name in red wire.  Such a fun personal touch.

Once Kyle and his groomsmen arrived, it was time to begin getting ready.  Wendy's bridesmaids and mother assisted her into her gown.  Kyle got dressed with his groomsmen and played a round of pool.

Their first look was at the end of the arched hallway.  Love Noah's Event Venue.  It is beautiful inside and this hallway was just stunning.

After their first look, we headed into the reception hall for formal portraits.  The ceremony space was very intimate and dark, not well suited to large family groups.  The reception hall was a perfect location.  The tulle and light background behind the head table made for a nice, simple backdrop for portraits.

We wandered around Noah's for a few other shots before finishing the family portraits and allowing Kyle and Wendy some time to rest before the ceremony began.

Check back again soon for the rest of Kyle and Wendy's beautiful Des Monies wedding!
