Why I Love Unplugged Weddings

We spend so much of our time plugged into a device; whether it’s a laptop, phone, tv, etc.  It is crucial we take time to unplug and be truly present in the moments that matter.

By asking your guests to turn off their devices, you are asking them to experience the day with you.  You are inviting them to be part of the celebration.  You are encouraging them to experience the love, laughter, and joy of your wedding by being present in the moment instead of them separating themselves from the day by viewing it through a screen.  Ask your guests to be truly present and participate.

Additionally, you have put a lot of time and effort into choosing the perfect photographers to capture your day in a way that meets your style, personality, and needs.  When you get your pictures back do you want them of your guests enjoying your day or of your guests experiencing the day through down turned faces toward their devices?  It is hard for your professional photographers when an event, such as a grand exit/entrance is occurring and guests are vying for the best spot to catch a snapshot on their phone or camera.

While we can admit to our love for smart phones, we also believe strongly in the power of turning them off and being present in the moment.
