On June 23rd, I captured the wedding of John and Natalie. They are both dental students at the University and are such super fun people. I had a blast working with them and their bridal party. We started off our day with their first look at Hotel Vetro. It was such a perfect location, with them each standing just around the corner from the other. A very special moment.
After we got a few pictures around the hotel, we headed over to the Iowa City Public Library for a few photos. I had never shot in there before, but it made for a beautiful setting. I love the the images from inside there. Then we walked over to the Old Capital. The bridal party was so much fun. I think they were the most enthusiastic jumpers I've ever seen for the jumping photos. Since they were so much fun, we tried some motion blur shots with them walking around John and Natalie. I love, love, love how they turned out!
As we were leaving the Old Capital, we happened upon Herky! Of course we had to snap a few pics with him before we headed to finish our formal session at Danforth Chapel, where the wedding was to be held. Their ceremony was a beautiful, intimate gather of close friends and family. Natalie's father presided over the ceremony and it was truly a touching service.
The reception was held at Orchard Green. There was a wonderful celebratory mood amongst the guests and the food was beyond wonderful. Orchard Green is a location I'd not been to previously and was a stunning location for their event. During the reception we went outside for a few additional photos of the bride and groom.
After the dance started up, the photo booth we'd set up was hopping. The guests were having a blast and it showed.
Congratulations to John and Natalie! Thank you for honoring us by selecting Geno Photography to capture your amazing day!!
