  1. We are high school sweethearts. We were part of the same circle of friends, though we hardly talked much. Then, after some encouragement from our friends he asked me to prom. The next day we talked on the phone for hours. A few weeks later we started officially dating and the rest is history. I could not imagine spending my life with anyone else but him.

  2. His best friend was dating my best friend and the two of them got the grand idea to set us up. We both agreed, after much convincing, to go out on a date. We hit it off so well! It was as though we'd always known each other. We dated for two years before he proposed. He is more than the love of my life, he is also my very best friend.

We are paying for our wedding ourselves and are working on a very limited budget. It would be so great to win this!

  3. We met while both of us worked at a local pizza place the summer after we gratuated high school. Both of us auditioned for a play in college and received the lead roles. We started dating a short time later and everything has been great since! We can't wait to spend the rest of our lives together!

We are a very young couple and are working with a very limited budget. We would love to win this because it would be great to have amazing photos of our wedding day to look back in years to come! Thank You!

  7. We met through a friend in Iowa City. He proposed on December 17, 2010, on the night of my graduation. We went out to eat and he proposed after dinner. I was sad because I was finally graduation from Iowa and he wanted it to be a happy day.

  8. We met when he shoved me into the ground playing football in his yard when we were 10 years old. Fast forward 8 years and I was going off to Iowa State, while he was heading to California for boot camp for the Marine Corps. It wasn't until a year later that our friendship turned into love. We spent a year and a half flying from Iowa to North Carolina, where he was stationed, just to be with each other. On January 1st he knelt down and asked me to be his wife. He is currently in Afghanistan while I'm finishing my degree and planning the wedding.

  9. My fiance and I have been together for 4 years. By the time we get married, we'll have been together for over 6 1/2 years. He is an amazing, honest, loving person. I'd love to be able to capture who he is and what he means to me with on of your gorgeous photo books (and with beautiful photos to display all over our home).

  11. My fiancé and I met at work. Our second Valentine's Day together was a Saturday. I had to work and none of my assistants were coming in, so I knew it would be a late night. We probably wouldn't get to go out. When I got to work, there he was! Even though he didn't work in my department, he came in to help and even had flowers delivered. That's something worth hanging on to!

  12. Jeff and I are both in our late 30's and have waited a long time for "the one". We intitially "met" on-line and a friend at work encouraged me to go to a singles get-together at her church. Jeff mentioned the same singles group and that is where I saw him for the first time. I have never experienced "love at first sight", but I can't explain it any other way. I was immediately drawn to him and can't imagine my life without him. I have a little boy and Jeff has already accepted him as his own, and my son is crazy about him as well. Jeff has never been married and although I have been around that block some time ago, he wants the whole wedding deal. I want this time to be the "dream" that we all dream of. Jeff is my dream come true, and so much more. We have a lot of expenses to prepare for the union of our family (remodeling Jeff's home to accomodate my son and I), and I hope that we don't have to skimp on the photos. We would love to have something beautiful and special to look back on when we are old and gray!

  13. Kent and I had been together just over 3 years when he proposed. I could not have asked for a better proposal. There weren't any roses or chocolates but that didn't make the day any less special or memorable. Kent's dad had passed away earlier that year after several years of battling cancer. His dad was the only father figured I had ever had in my life and would have been walking me down the isle if he were still with us today. June 12th was not only the day Kent proposed but also, the day of this dad’s memorial service. After a day filled will tears and sadness Kent surprised his entire family and myself. Following his brother who had just led a prayer before lunch Kent stood up and announced he would also like to say something. With all of his family and friends eyes on him he proceeded to announce how he always envisioned his dad here on this day and that he knew he was watching over us today. He then got down on one knee with the ring box accidently upside down and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. We are now planning the wedding of our dreams with photos on the top or our priority list. With Kent loosing his dad and myself loosing two younger siblings we both understand the importance of photos and capturing memories and moments to look back on.

  14. My husband and I met four years ago. My cousin and a few of his work buddies were going out one night and my cousin told me I should go with, just to have a good time. I didn't really want to go out that night, bars arn't really my scene, but after some begging and pleading from my cousin, I agreed. We were all sitting around at a friends house waiting for everyone to arrive when my future husband walked in the door. I thought he was cute but I really didn't think anything of it. Later that night at the bar, he kept asking me to dance. I told him I wasn't really into dancing but wouldn't leave me alone! :) So, I gave in. While we were dancing, he gave me the "you have beautiful eyes" line and asked for my number. I told him I wasn't really looking to date anyone at that time, but again, he kept asking so I gave in. He told me he would call the next day and we'd go out on a date. Inside I was thinking "here we go, just another pick up line". The next day my phone rang and it was him asking what time he should pick me up. I fell inlove with him that night. Three years later, he purposed on Christmas Eve. That night changed my life. I've never felt so happy. My husband was scheduled to deploy to Afghanistan that fall so we threw together a quick family only ceremony. No wedding dress, no tuxes, no reception. We didn't have time or money to have a "normal" wedding. He's been overseas for seven months now and I miss him more and more each day. We were both a little sad that we didn't get to experience the whole wedding day so we decided that on May 5, 2012, we're going to do it all! We're planning a vow renewal ceremony where all of our friends and family can join us in celebrating our love and our lives together. So, since he's been gone, I've been planning. After all my husband's done for me, I want to give him a wonderful wedding day. We deserve to have that day. We deserve to have bridesmaids and groomsmen, a cake, flowers, a first dance and beautiful photographs. This deployment has been a true test for both of us but I think we're passing. We love each other and that's getting us through each day, a half a world apart. - Angela K.

  15. Ben and I had known of each other for years because we had gone to the same schools while growing up. However, it wasn't until my sophomore year of high school (his junior year) that we took the time to really get to know each other. During lunch one day, Ben randomly asked me to empty his dirty lunch tray and that is what started it all. We both attended a high school dance called the “Luau” and started hanging out and dancing together there. After a few more casual conversations at school and at the local Tastee Freeze, Ben decided to ask me to prom. He completely caught me off guard, but of course I said “yes.” We immediately started talking and hanging out all of the time and on April 3, 2005 he casually said "so, are we like dating now?" Well of course the answer was yes.

Ben graduated from high school and went away to Wartburg College and that year apart was tough! The following year, I joined him at Wartburg. Our relationship grew through our college years and in May 2010 Ben graduated. He spent the following summer in Colorado, which was even tougher because it was the first time that we were so far apart, (12 hours to be exact), but we made it through. I went to visit him over the Fourth of July and, unknowingly at the time, we both decided on that trip that we were ready to spend the rest of our lives together. Ben then moved to Knoxville, Tennessee to start graduate school where he is currently working on his Masters degree in Sport Management. I began my senior year at Wartburg. Being 13 hours away from each other was another difficult adjustment but we continue to find ways to communicate and keep our love alive.

Last October, Ben came home for his Fall break. Wartburg has a surprise day called "Outfly" where all classes are canceled for the day and there are a variety of activities. Every year, Outfly has a different theme and this year's theme was “Vegas.” Ben had planned to visit Wartburg later that day, so I called him to let him know that it was Outfly. One of the activities happened to be a pretend Vegas wedding chapel and I thought it would have been a fun activity for us to do. On the phone that morning I asked him if he wanted to marry me in the Vegas chapel when he got to campus and he quickly shot me down with a strong "NO." I was a little confused by his lack of a sense of humor on the issue but didn't think too much about it because I had awakened him with my phone call.

When Ben arrived on campus later that day, he surprised me with a proposal in the privacy of my room. Although it was pure coincidence, he had thought that I had caught onto his plan when I had inquired about getting married at the wedding chapel earlier in the day. After I said “yes,” he asked, "so, are we like engaged now?" (Just like when we started dating.) I then proceeded to ask "Are you serious?" about 25 times. It was the best day of my life so far.

We have been trying to plan our wedding together while living 13 hours apart. We are obviously young college and grad school students who are trying to begin our life together on the right foot (and this includes financially). Having this opportunity would mean so much to us, as it would allow us to save more money to put towards our future together as a married couple. I can't imagine spending my life with anyone but Ben! Having our wedding photos to enjoy over and over will help us to remember just how we felt about each other on our special day. It will be a joy to share them with others and will keep our cherished memories alive for years to come.
