My "Why"

Recently, I was tasked with digging deep and really finding my "why."  I didn't have to spend hours looking deep within to find the hidden meaning of why photography and portraits are so dear to my heart and light a passion in my soul.

This is my "why."

Meet the Photographer

I've realized recently that I've introduced you to my beautiful daughters and my family as a whole, but I should properly introduce myself.  I'm the creative soul and owner of Geno Photography.  I am a hopeless romantic, and I love capturing special moments.  Whether they are at a wedding or during a portrait session, I think they are the ultimate things that make life beautiful. This is the best part of my job.  Being creative is wonderful and I am so thankful to be in a career where I can put my creativity to use, but the thing that give me the most satisfaction is creating images that convey the emotion of the moment.  Images of the mother of the groom tearing up as she dances with her son on his wedding day.  Images of first time parents snuggling up with their precious new baby and seeing the absolute joy on their faces.  I love my job!

A Jack of All Trades {Weddings}

I'm such a hopeless romantic at heart.  I love Love, so weddings are naturally something I adore.  Two people who are fully smitten with each other, surrounded by those who love them, all in a beautiful setting;  there's nothing to not like!  On a wedding day, it is my job to capture not only portraits, but also the moments shared by everyone involved.  These moments vary from the joyful hugs and laughter as the bride and groom celebrate with guests to the quiet, intimate moments when the happy couple takes a moment to whisper "I love you" to each other.  Through the years, I have learned many useful skills that I have used to help many wedding days run smoothly so these important moments can continue to happen.

An Open Letter to Myself

Recently, I was asked to speak as a panelist at the Delta Zeta's Powerhouse Career Panel.  I was truly honored to be there beside some very amazing women with such prestigious professions as doctors, deans, lawyers, and more.  We were asked a series of questions regarding our work, being women in our fields of profession, and about what advice we'd give to the women there who were just beginning their journeys toward professional careers of their own.
